Independent full-service advertising agency Chemistry announced the hire of Christofer Peterson as chief people officer. In her role, Christofer will oversee the agency’s people and culture department, focusing on employee growth, agency culture, and developing and retaining talent.
“Nothing is more important than talent to build a great agency. You have to find them, keep them happy, and set them up for success,” said Tim Smith, president of Chemistry. “Christofer understands what that looks like, has a passion for people, and wonderful social grace. She knows exactly how to mix that gumbo, and we just say, “Yes, Chef!”
Throughout her impressive 20-year career, Christofer has remained committed to elevating the ‘human’ element in human resources. Her resume spans advertising agencies, start-ups, and global corporations, with a focus on executive leadership, HR and talent strategy, and cultural transformation. Christofer’s resume includes leadership roles in top shops, including Hearts & Science, an Omnicom Media Group agency. She is an advisory board member of Work Wider, a career and recruitment ecosystem for underrepresented communities. She is also a part of Fe league, a development and social impact group for professional women.
“I am elated to join Chemistry and explore the intersections of talent performance, equity, and agency growth,” said Christofer Peterson. “Our people are our nucleus, and the chief people officer role is pivotal in helping us deliver on that promise. I look forward to nurturing our inclusive culture and bolstering the leadership team’s obsession with supporting our people, serving our clients, and transforming our industry. In short, I’m ready to blow shit up!”
